Hanoh Szpira’s work finds its roots in the perpetual attempt for a discussion between the beauty of painting, the physical expression of materials and the digitization of creative tools.
Impregnated with both traditional techniques (such as painting, drawing, photography) and 3D special effects coming right out of Hollywood, Hanoh Szpira has come up with the most singular approach. It is particularly visible through his desire to tear apart the coldness usually associated to digital images, while questioning its reason for being. Thus revealing a tension between these two, apparently opposed, technical ways of making art.
When the artist goes from working on a pigment to dealing with a pixel, or when he takes displacement coordinates to materialize a trajectory, his action produces a vibration between two worlds. It is this very vibration that interests Hanoh Szpira: links are created when one confronts facts or concepts that, at first glance, do not belong to the same reality.
His work, bursting with transversality and hybridization, makes it possible to create bridges between different narratives, different temporalities and different ways of grasping reality.
Hanoh Szpira’s aesthetic is expressed through the aforementioned friction between two worlds, as it is through accidents, in the strict sense of the term: « fortuitous event ». It’s about revealing a face, a persona, through a « catastrophe ». This circumstance creates a change of paradigm in the artistic composition and constantly redefines its nature. The accident both upsets and confirms the attempt to set an unnatural discussion.
It works similarly when Hanoh Szpira makes a portrait: he explores the subject as well as the irruption of the accident. He lets shapes and colors live together, gives an impulse, re-forms and re-works structures, establishes a new rhythm, until he finally finds a coherent matter, a presence amongst chaos.
It is a creation in motion that is bound by precision, balance found within the permanent instability. Hanoh Szpira thus questions the materiality of the digital image by asserting its aesthetic and technical particularities.

Le travail de Hanoh Szpira s’inscrit dans la recherche permanente d’un dialogue entre la sublimité de la peinture, la plastique des corps et la numérisation des outils de création.Imprégné des techniques traditionnelles (comme la peinture, le dessin, la photographie), et du monde des effets spéciaux hollywoodiens (3D..) Hanoh Szpira s’est forgé une écriture singulière. Elle est notamment marquée par la volonté de briser la froideur de l’image numérique, tout en s'interrogeant sur sa matérialité. Se révèle alors une tension entre ces deux modes de technique de création.Lorsque l’artiste passe du pigment au pixel, ou qu' il prélève des coordonnées de mouvement pour matérialiser une trajectoire, son geste donne naissance à une vibration entre deux mondes. C'est cette vibration même qui intéresse Hanoh Szpira : des liens se créent lorsque l'on confronte des données qui, à première vue, n'appartiennent pas à la même réalité.Sa pratique, marquée par la transversalité et l'hybridation, permet de créer des ponts entre différents espaces de narration, différentes temporalités et différents modes d'appropriation du réel.L’esthétique de Hanoh Szpira se développe grâce à ce frottement entre deux mondes, et aux accidents, au sens premier du terme : « événement fortuit ». Il s'agit de révéler une figure par une « catastrophe ». Ce qui advient opère de fait un renversement dans la composition, et vient sans cesse redéfinir sa nature. L’accident vient à la fois bouleverser et confirmer la recherche de dialogue.Il en est de même lorsque Hanoh Szpira construit un portrait : il explore aussi bien le sujet que l'irruption de l'accident. Il laisse les formes et les couleurs vivre entre elles, donne une impulsion, reforme et retravaille les structures, instaure un nouveau rythme, jusqu'à trouver, enfin, une présence dans le chaos.C’est une composition en mouvement qui tient de la justesse, de l’équilibre trouvé au sein de l’instabilité permanente. Hanoh Szpira travaille ainsi à interroger la matérialité de l’image numérique en affirmant sa particularité esthétique et technique.
